I am a INFP and I am very happy to know that, it's true to me :P

I love being an INFP.  I am currently studying to be a child psychologist and I couldnt be happier with my career choice.  I lvoe how Helen Keller is an INFP I am also HOH and if she was sucessful, I feel I can be also.  NEVER EVER EVER GIVE UP on who u ARE

Odd... i've been taking these personality tests online and i'm always an ENFP or an INFP. Anway, these jobs don't really attract me at all. I mean, I would be good at them, but I havn't gone down a path which may lead me here in future life..

Anyway, have I made a terrible msitake in not choosing the subjects which will lead me to these carriers? Will my life be filled with disappointment/regret/misery? How set in stone is these ideas that for every "person a" is a "job a" and if "person a" wants "job b" they are screwed?

Making choices was never hard for me...I would choose if i liked something otherwise i would ignore the stuff no matter what...But as i grew up i was forced to decide, so i made decisions without giving them much thought like every other teenager in India or anywhere else in the world...I studied electronics first then business management...actually i dropped out of the later.....i m 22 years old. In 9 and a half months, i ll be 23.....As i grew up,i had a big family not a joint one but we all live in the same city so family get-togethers were common...i happen to be a spawn-ling in between two generation , everyone's at least 8 years older or younger to me....so they all loved me like their own child....in India or most parts of the world, Love and Expectations go hand in hand...i believe so...
As far as i am concerned, i love them more than i love myself..i would gladly die if it meant their safety...........but i m unable to choose a career that they would be proud of and i could be happy too...money matters the least...though it would pleasurable to have some :D......i hate routine jobs they love it apart from my DAD..he is the one i derive my ideals from...the mans Legendary...i know no one who loves,donates,works,sleeps like him....if only he had kept me on tight leash...i would have been a nice career oriented guy.. ok! may be not..
i have wasted 3 years of my life on strategy gaming..One word 'DOTA'.....i have no other addiction..i don't like alcohol, cigarette even non-veg food...m almost an ideal son...the only quest that remains is CAREER and the search for a companion which will follow .......pls give me some creative enlightenment......

It's funny looking at all those careers and thinking, "I would probably enjoy almost any of those." I'm studying to be a nurse, but I write as a hobby and I've always secretly wanted to be a librarian, musician, or filmmaker :) It's so good to know that there are people out there who understand me! And I know it's totally subjective, but I bet Mary was an INFP :) I'm not so sure about Anne of Green Gables. How was she an introvert?

Through out my childhood my mom said I was so much like Anne of Green Gables and I'm an INFP, she is INFP because she is highly imaginative, emotional, romantic, idealistic, she feels like an outsider and misunderstood, she becomes a teacher, she is introspective, enjoys being by herself and imagining things, or enjoys the close one on one encounters she has in her most valued relationships, (Dianna, Matthew, Gilbert, etc.) These qualities support the fact that she is an introvert

I've done this test several times over the years. Some things about me have changed, but 20 years after the first time I took this test I still am an INFP. I've had several people I've worked with tell me that I would make a good priest or minister. I'm presently enjoying my most successful work as a Minister of Music (Organist/Choir Director) for a Lutheran Church. I love my job and the people I work with.

so WHAT ARE YOUR JOBS/CAREERS? and how do you like them? (those other INFP's) I truly find myself as an INFP and having very difficult time choosing a career path. as an INFP, I think I just naively thought things will somehow magically work out but as a result, I'm having to start all over again, would appreciate any comment/insights/experiences.

I would like to know this too,as I have always had trouble with this. I currently am breeding Goldendoodles puppies and I thought I'd love it. But I find it draining all that worry about talking to people, really being a salesman. Not ideal for me.

i find it kind of insulting to see people like Homer, Virgil, Mary, and Shakespeare on there. i mean it's hard to pin this on someone who we have specific details about. what details do we have on Homer really? or Virgil? Mary? ppffftt, what the hell......people don't even know if Shakespeare was one person or a group of people. now, Fred Savage on the other hand, that's money right there. i can believe that.

Hey, we INFPers tend to view the line between reality and fantasy as rather gray, much like geniuses do. ;P The vast majority of gifted individuals have this personality type, too.

How exactly would one know that Mary Mother of Jesus was an INFP?

Good question!   It will help you to know that I take the view that in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) we have a reliable account of the life of Jesus and those surrounding him, such as Mary.  Therefore, those things said about her would portray what the authors of the time knew, and would help us form a more accurate picture of a real, historical person.  Historians believe that the gospel writers, especially Luke, gleaned much of their information from Mary.  You will see as you read Luke that some things about the early life of Jesus could not have been known unless Mary had shared them.   So, what insights about her personality can we take from these books? 

 First, I think we can deduce that she was rather introverted.  Women are quoted in other places in the Gospels, and some of their actions are recorded.  We see women asking for miracles, getting mad at a sister, telling Jesus he should have come sooner, and so on.  When we note that most of Mary's actions are not really recorded, nor are many conversations between her and others, we might ask, "Hmmmm....I wonder why?"  We might conclude that compared to the other women in these books, this one was different...quieter.  There are Bible verses that say that Mary "pondered all these things in her heart" when Jesus was born, and also that she stayed in seclusion for some months during her pregnancy.  I have not found anything in the Bible to indicate that women normally did this, so I would conclude it was her own choice...that she was a meditative gal who needed her space!

Secondly,  from analyzing her words of praise (the magnificat) when she found she was to be the mother of the Savior, we can see she is full of feeling and  poetic expression.  It is interesting to note that her poetry is full of references to God's doings in former times, making me think she was quite familiar with her religious literature and  history and able to quote them well.  

 Thirdly, her words of acceptance, "may it be to me as you have said" indicate she was open to whatever new thing God wanted to do in her...a perceiving rather than judging characteristic, I'd say.  Her presence as Jesus did his first miracle, and again at the cross indicates that she was with him and watching, but the gospel writers never depict her as taking center stage.  She comes across as a loyal supporter, not a director or a diva.   If you think that's just how all women in the Bible were--sweet and submissive--boy are you gonna laugh when you read about the mother of James and John, or about Martha!  

You are right that we just cannot be 100% certain about someone when we have limited historical information about them.   My pastor says you can learn a lot about incidents or people in the Bible by noting both what is said, and also what you'd expect to be there but is NOT said, you know, like reading between the lines.  The Gospels are easy to read for yourself in a short time, so I hope you will have fun doing so.  See if you agree or disagree with me about Mary, and also observe how the personalities of other people are portrayed.  Flaws and failings are not sugar-coated, but what's great is, Jesus invites all kinds of characters to follow him, not just "holy" people!  Mary seems like one of the few in the Gospels who would actually be able to live up to that description.

Laura Ingalls Wilder isn't a fictional person, which you would know if you'd ever read her books. The Little House books were written by her, genius. They are her autobiography.
